Diamond Surface, Inc. is looking for an experienced diesel/heavy-equipment technician who is ready to step into a hands-on Shop Foreman role at its Huxley, Iowa facility. This is a strong opportunity for someone who can lead technicians and still turn wrenches. The equipment fleet is approximately 90% Caterpillar, making this an especially attractive opportunity for technicians with CAT or construction-equipment experience. WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY STANDS OUT • $75,000–$90,000 annual compensation + overtime • Approximately 90% Caterpillar equipment • Employee-owned company (ESOP) • Profit sharing • 80% employer-paid medical insurance • 100% employer-paid dental insurance • 100% employer-paid life insurance • 401(k) • Hands-on leadership position — not a desk-only management role • Opportunity to lead the shop while continuing to use your technical skills WHAT YOU’LL DO • Help lead the day-to-day operation of the maintenance shop • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel-powered heavy equipment • Work with engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, and other mechanical systems • Help prioritize repairs and preventative maintenance to keep equipment ready for operation • Provide technical direction and support to other technicians • Help organize workflow, parts, repairs, and equipment readiness • Maintain a safe and productive shop environment • Work with operations and leadership to reduce equipment downtime WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Strong diesel and heavy-equipment mechanical background • Previous Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, Supervisor, or other leadership experience • Experience diagnosing and repairing engines, hydraulics, electrical, drivetrain, and mechanical systems • Caterpillar experience strongly preferred • Trade school or diesel/heavy-equipment education preferred • CDL Class A with tanker endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain required credentials • Ability to lead technicians while remaining hands-on with repairs IDEAL CANDIDATE You may already be a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, Field Technician, or experienced heavy-equipment mechanic who is ready for more responsibility.
