Reyes Fleet Management is hiring 2 experienced Diesel Mechanics / Fleet Technicians at its McCook, IL fleet facility. Both A- and B-level technicians are being considered. This position is best suited for technicians with direct Class 8 tractor and trailer experience. Prior hands-on experience with equipment such as Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth or similar heavy-duty trucks is important for this opening. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐭 • A Tech: $31–$37/hr + $2/hr shift differential • B Tech: $25–$30/hr + $2/hr shift differential • 4-day workweek • Choose Monday–Thursday OR Tuesday–Friday • 5:00 PM–3:30 AM • 3 days off each week • Only 1 Saturday per month required • When working Saturday, Monday is off • 4 weeks paid time off + holiday pay • +$1/hr with an active CDL • +$0.25/hr per T-Series ASE certification, up to +$2/hr • Medical, dental and vision insurance • 401(k) • Company-paid life insurance • Annual performance raises • Tool & boot allowance • Paid uniforms • Career advancement opportunities 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 • Full-time • 4 ten-hour shifts • Choose Monday–Thursday OR Tuesday–Friday • 5:00 PM–3:30 AM • 1 Saturday per month required • If scheduled Saturday, Monday is off • 3 days off each week • Non-union 𝐀 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 • 3+ years of related heavy-duty diesel/fleet maintenance experience • Direct Class 8 tractor and trailer experience • Preventive maintenance and DOT inspections • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostics • Liftgate repair • Hydraulic systems • Aftertreatment systems • Clutches and drivetrain repairs • Suspension and brake systems • Ability to diagnose and complete complex repairs with limited supervision 𝐁 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 • 2+ years of related heavy-duty diesel/fleet maintenance experience • Hands-on Class 8 tractor and trailer experience • Preventive maintenance • Tractor and trailer inspections and repairs • General mechanical repairs • Suspension work • Wheel seals • Brake systems • Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues • Ability and desire to continue developing toward A-Tech level 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 This is not an entry-level diesel position. Reyes is specifically looking for technicians with previous hands-on experience maintaining Class 8 tractors, trailers and similar fleet equipment. Automotive or medium-duty experience alone may not meet the requirements for the A- or B-Tech openings.
